Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae Supports Fire-Damaged Disabled Households with 'Newly Built Housing'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Nodongil, Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 4th that it supported the construction of a new house for a low-income disabled household in Gokseong-gun whose house was completely destroyed by fire last year through the ‘Housing Construction Matching Grant Support Project.’
The housing completion cost was funded with a total donation of 33 million KRW, consisting of 10 million KRW from Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae’s 1:1 matching fund and local sponsorship and contributions.
The move-in ceremony held the day before was conducted simply while adhering to COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, with attendees including Nodongil, Chairman of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae; Yoo Geun-gi, Gokseong County Governor; Jeong In-gyun, Chairman of Gokseong County Council; Shin Hyun-sook, CEO of Jeonnam Welfare Foundation; and Jeon Ui-sang, Director of Inseong Korean Medicine Hospital.
Chairman Nodongil of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae said, “The warm hands of sharing came together to complete the house,” and added, “We thank those who participated in the culture of sharing and congratulate the start in the new home.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Housing Construction Matching Grant Support Project’ has been providing comfortable and cozy homes by rebuilding old houses for families in difficult living conditions through 1:1 matching support from local community resources since 2014. So far, it has supported 65 households in the Jeonnam region.
