Seocho-gu 'Kkotjari Concert' Youth Artists Contest Announcement
Small Music Concerts by Young Artists of Various Genres in Parks and Streets... Call for 50 Performance Teams of Young Artists in Various Genres Until May 12
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jo Eun-hee) is calling for applications from 50 youth artist performance teams of various genres to participate in the '2021 Traveling Flower Seat Concert' until the 12th.
The 'Flower Seat Concert' is a music concert where young artists visit outdoor cultural spaces such as parks, plazas, and streets within the area to perform directly.
Last year, the event was suspended due to the impact of COVID-19, but since March, the previously selected performance teams have participated, holding concerts in outdoor spaces while complying with quarantine rules such as social distancing among the audience.
The recruitment targets are youth artist performance groups aged 19 to 39 in various genres including classical, K-POP, bands, and gugak, and any team capable of performing in outdoor spaces can apply. However, to provide opportunities to more young artists, teams that were already selected or given performance opportunities in cultural projects hosted by Seocho-gu in 2021 are excluded from applying.
Selected youth artist performance teams will be given one opportunity to perform in outdoor spaces between June and November, with support for stage and sound equipment, and a performance fee of 200,000 KRW per person, up to 800,000 KRW per team.
Performances will be regularly held from Tuesday to Friday at noon at four major locations in the region. On Tuesdays at Sinjung Children's Park, Wednesdays at Seorae Village Paris 15th District Park, Thursdays at Bangbae Dwitbeol Children's Park, and Fridays in front of the Yangjaecheon waterfront stage.
Youth artist performance teams wishing to apply for this 'Flower Seat Concert' can download the application form from the Seocho-gu Office website, fill it out, and submit it.
Considering overall performance capability, artistic quality, and audience communication skills, a final selection of 50 teams will be made, and the results and subsequent schedules will be individually notified in May.
Additionally, in the second half of the year, the district plans to hold a 'Music Delivery Concert' where youth artists will deliver surprise musical gifts to families, acquaintances, and colleagues based on stories directly requested by residents.
At the end of the year, 10 teams that have demonstrated excellent performance capabilities throughout the year will be selected to film performance videos at major local spots and be given promotional opportunities through the 'Seoripul Flower Seat Live' event.
