[Photo] Yuseonghun, Geumcheon District Mayor, Distributes Air-Purifying Plants for Elderly Living Alone
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yuseong-hoon, the mayor of Geumcheon-gu, on April 29th, distributed companion gardens including bean sprout baskets and air-purifying plants to elderly people living alone who could not go out due to the impact of COVID-19.
Mayor Yuseong-hoon personally visited six households of elderly people living alone in Siheung-dong and Doksan-dong, delivering two sets of companion gardens to each and checking on their well-being.
The companion gardens consisted of 'bean sprout baskets' and 'air-purifying plants' filled with anthurium, table palm, marianne, hoya, and ivy.
The district distributed 122 sets of companion gardens to 61 households of elderly people living alone, recommended by each neighborhood community center, from April 14 to 30.

Yuseong-hoon, mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "I hope the elderly overcome the depression of old age and regain vitality in life through companion gardens," and added, "We will elevate the urban agriculture box garden distribution project to the next level and provide various types of companion gardens to more elderly people."
