Pfizer Discusses Rapid Approval Plan for COVID-19 Vaccine with India
[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] It has been revealed that Pfizer, the U.S. pharmaceutical company producing the COVID-19 vaccine, is discussing rapid vaccine approval measures with the Indian government.
According to major foreign media, Albert Bourla, Pfizer's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), announced this on social media (SNS) on the 3rd (local time).
CEO Bourla explained, "The (vaccine approval) application was submitted several months ago, but unfortunately, it has not yet been approved in India."
Along with this, CEO Bourla announced that Pfizer would donate pharmaceuticals worth 70 million dollars to India.
The COVID-19 vaccines currently approved for use in India include AstraZeneca's 'Covishield,' Russia's 'Sputnik V,' and 'Covaxin,' which was independently developed by the Indian pharmaceutical company Bharat Biotech.
