View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] The father of university student Son Jeongmin (22), who went missing after drinking at Seoul Hangang Park and was found dead six days later, has revealed KakaoTalk messages exchanged with his son during his lifetime.
Son Hyun (50), Jeongmin's father, posted an article titled "Conversation with My Son" on his blog on the 2nd. Son said, "Today is the second day of the funeral. We finally held the encoffining," adding, "It is painful to think of my son who must have been lonely alone in the Hangang water, but we made him look beautiful."
He continued, "Now I want to leave the conversation I had with my son. After I gifted him the emoticon I wanted to receive, I was very grateful whenever he used that emoticon," and disclosed the KakaoTalk messages exchanged with the deceased during his lifetime.
In the revealed conversation, Jeongmin often used an emoticon containing the words "Dad! Dad! Dad!" when addressing his father Son. When Son said, "Son, I love you. And thank you for growing up well," Jeongmin replied with an emoticon saying "Dad! I love you!!" and wrote, "I also thank you and love you~."
When Son sent past travel photos, Jeongmin said, "Thank you, Dad. I sometimes think about the old days too, but I think I have many memories, especially since I can't travel these days," adding, "I will continue to behave well without causing you any worries."
Meanwhile, to encourage Jeongmin, who was a medical student, Son said, "Son, now that you have entered the main course, I am proud and also feel sorry for you. You are a son to be proud of," to which Jeongmin responded with an emoticon saying "Dad! I love you!!".
Son said, "My son was the most lovable in the world. Although we can no longer travel together, my wife and I have promised to live in this house forever and keep my son's room exactly the same," adding, "From now on, I intend to use Jeongmin's bulletin board for this purpose. Anyone interested is always welcome."
Netizens who saw the post expressed condolences, saying, "As a parent raising a son, this does not feel like someone else's story. I hope the cause of death is definitely found," "He was such a lovely son; it breaks my heart how this happened. I hope the truth is revealed," "I support you to hold on until the end and to uncover the truth," and "What words could comfort you? I pray that all facts are revealed and your son goes to a good place."

View original imageAccording to the bereaved family, the National Forensic Service visually inspected on the 1st and reported that there were two finger-sized stab wounds behind Jeongmin's left ear, but these wounds were not considered the direct cause of death. It was also reported that there was some rupture in the cheek muscle area besides the wound behind the ear. The cause of Jeongmin's death is expected to be clarified about 15 days later when the detailed examination results come out.

Meanwhile, Jeongmin went missing after drinking with his friend A at Hangang Park from around 10:30 p.m. on the 24th of last month until early the next morning. Friend A woke up alone at around 4:30 a.m. on the 25th and went home alone. It is reported that it is unknown whether Jeongmin was nearby.
