'110th Anniversary' FILA, 'Punky Tennis 1998' Limited Sale for 30 Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Global sports brand FILA announced on the 30th that it will release a limited quantity of the third installment in its ‘110th Anniversary Heritage Shoes’ series, selecting the ‘Funky Tennis 1998’ as the shoe of April. FILA, which was founded in Italy in 1911 and is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year, has selected 11 representative shoes by category from its century-long history, releasing 110 pairs of one model each month since February as part of an annual project.
The ‘Funky Tennis 1998’ is a court shoe with a tennis shoe concept first launched in 1998. It features the original Funky Tennis’s key elements while adding a modern sensibility to offer a fresh experience.
Additionally, a special logo symbolizing FILA’s 110th anniversary is embroidered on the shoe tongue to add a heritage mood. At the same time, a natural-tone vintage processing technique is applied to the leather surrounding the upper part. Thanks to this, the shoe gains a natural charm over time, making it perfect for creating a stylish look. The Italian premium leather used in all models of the Heritage Shoes series, a special leather hang tag package, and a unique serial number marking enhance its collectible value.
The product will be available for sale from 11 a.m. on the 30th. The price is 169,000 KRW.
