According to Daejeon City on the 30th, a total of 31 confirmed cases were reported in the region the previous day. Among them, 18 were confirmed to be residents (17) and staff members (1) of the nursing facility. The age distribution of the confirmed cases within the facility is one person in their 60s, two in their 70s, eight in their 80s, and seven in their 90s.
Fortunately, some residents at the facility suspected COVID-19 symptoms and conducted self-tests using rapid antigen kits, which yielded positive results, enabling prompt mass testing to be carried out.
The mass testing was conducted on 66 individuals, including 38 residents and 28 staff members. The city’s quarantine authorities transported the 18 confirmed cases to nearby hospitals, and residents and staff who tested negative will be quarantined within the facility.
In addition to the nursing facility cases, seven people (Daejeon cases 1700~1701, 1706~1710) linked to confirmed cases from other regions such as Cheonan in Chungnam, Wanju in Jeonbuk, and Mapo-gu in Seoul, as well as two individuals (Daejeon cases 1704, 1711) who were in self-quarantine due to contact with confirmed cases or overseas entry, were added to the list of confirmed cases.
