Muan-gun Provides Livelihood Support for Households Facing Income Reduction Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 29th that it will implement a temporary livelihood support project for low-income households whose income has decreased due to the prolonged impact of COVID-19.
The temporary livelihood support project is designed to assist low-income households that have experienced a crisis due to income reduction but have not received other damage support, aiming to address blind spots in government COVID-19 support.
The support targets households whose income has decreased due to COVID-19, with income criteria set at 75% or less of the median income (monthly income of 2-person households at 2.31 million KRW or less / 4-person households at 3.65 million KRW or less), and property criteria for rural fishing villages at 300 million KRW or less. If all payment criteria are met, 500,000 KRW will be paid in cash per household.
However, if a recipient of the 300,000 KRW agricultural and fishery management support voucher is selected for the temporary livelihood support, the difference of 200,000 KRW will be paid. Households receiving basic livelihood benefits, emergency welfare livelihood support, or those who received the 2021 COVID-19 disaster relief fund are excluded from support.
Online applications can be made by the head of the household from the 10th to the 28th of next month through the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Bokjiro website. On-site applications can be submitted by the head of the household, household members, or representatives by visiting the local eup/myeon office in charge of their address from the 17th of next month to June 4th.
Eligibility checks and application acceptance will be conducted using an odd-even system based on the last digit of the head of household’s birth year. For detailed information, inquiries can be made at each eup/myeon office.
