Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok Expresses Gratitude for Art Donation from Late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, expressed his gratitude for the donation of 21 artworks from the late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee's collection to the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 29th, Governor Kim stated in a welcome message for the Lee Kun-hee collection donation, "Jeonnam now houses excellent works by nine masters, including Heo Baek-ryeon, Oh Ji-ho, Kim Whanki, and Chun Kyung-ja, who are great figures in Korean art from Jeonnam, as well as Kim Eun-ho, Yoo Young-guk, Lim Jik-soon, Yoo Kang-yeol, and Park Dae-sung, who represent modern and contemporary Korean art."
He continued, "This is a valuable gift that brings inspiration to the citizens weary from COVID-19 and will greatly help elevate the dignity and exhibition standards of the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, which opened last month," adding, "I hope this donation will further activate the 'Mecenat Movement' that gives hope to cultural artists."
