View original image[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced on the 30th that it held the 'aT ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Management Proclamation Ceremony' to realize sustainable agriculture and fisheries. The proclamation ceremony was broadcast live through aT's official YouTube channel. ESG management, which strengthens non-financial factors such as environment, society, and governance rather than traditional financial factors like net income and operating profit, has established itself as a global corporate trend. In particular, the environment and social sectors are linked to the realization of social values such as safety and support for socially vulnerable groups in public enterprises operated with taxpayers' money.
At this proclamation ceremony, aT declared that it will practice ESG management such as supporting sustainable agriculture and fisheries that save the planet (environmental management), securing happy food for the people created with farmers and fishermen (social responsibility), and becoming a transparent aT trusted by the public (governance). The ceremony was attended by aT President Kim Chunjin, Auditor Park Seokbae, Labor Union Chairman Seo Gwonjae, and Wi Jiyeon, CEO of Cheongsanbada (aT’s client company), who read the 'ESG Management Declaration.' The declaration included practical tasks such as ▲practicing green management to create a safe food circulation system ▲revitalizing the local economy and supporting socially vulnerable groups ▲realizing transparent management that protects ethics and human rights and communicates with the public. Following this, 169 agro-fisheries and food companies that submitted the pledge to implement the declaration were introduced.
