Jeju National University Traffic Accident 'Heroic Youth' Lee Young-ho Receives Commendation for Firefighting Service
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Fire Station announced on the 29th that it awarded a commendation for distinguished firefighting service to the heroic young man Lee Youngho (23), who carried out devoted rescue efforts at a traffic accident scene with multiple casualties that occurred this month.
Lee Youngho, a student majoring in Korean Language Education at Jeju National University, witnessed the traffic accident near the Jeju National University entrance intersection at around 5:59 PM on the 6th while returning from school. He actively engaged in rescue activities by supporting the injured and moving them to a safe place until the fire brigade arrived.
He also played a significant role throughout the rescue efforts by informing firefighters of the injured persons' locations and collecting and returning their belongings.
