[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 29th that its first dedicated electric vehicle, the Ioniq 5, won the Best Design Award at the UK's Top Gear electric vehicle awards.
Jack Rix, editor of Top Gear, cited the reasons for the Ioniq 5 winning the Best Design Award as ▲futuristic design ▲a sensibility reminiscent of 1980s hot hatches ▲bold and diverse details such as the solar roof and taillights ▲a flat rear interior space and center console.
Ashley Andrew, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor UK, said, "The Ioniq 5 is a very important step in Hyundai's goal to become a leader in the electric vehicle sector," adding, "Many customers across Europe have already registered to learn more about the Ioniq 5."
