Seven Eleven Launches Three Types of 'Seven Select Cup Soup' Amid Growing Demand for Convenience Foods
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Seven Eleven announced on the 29th that it will newly launch its private brand (PB) 'Seven Select Cup Soup' series amid increasing sales of convenience store ready-to-eat meals due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The newly introduced products include three types: Spicy Pollack Soup, Spicy Green Onion Yukgaejang, and Spinach Doenjang Soup. Pollack Soup and Yukgaejang are re-launched products, while Spinach Doenjang Soup is a newly launched product. The content of solid ingredients has been increased by more than 17% compared to existing products to enhance a rich texture, and freeze-drying technology was applied to preserve the nutrients of the original ingredients.
To commemorate the launch of Seven Select Cup Soup, Seven Eleven will offer a 20% discount for payments made with event cards throughout May. From the 1st to the 7th of next month, customers who purchase lunchboxes (7 types) from the Han-kki Research Institute brand will receive a free cup soup.

A Seven Eleven official said, “Due to COVID-19, more customers are gradually seeking convenient soups or stews along with convenience store ready-to-eat meals,” adding, “Convenience store cup soups are easy to consume anywhere with just hot water, making them useful not only for regular meals but also for outdoor activities such as camping.”
