Korea Forest Service, 'Everyday Life' Mugunghwa Cultural Works Contest
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Service announced on the 27th that it will hold the Mugunghwa Cultural Works Contest under the theme "Capturing My Newly Bloomed Flower, the Mugunghwa" from June 26 to July 23.
The contest is divided into categories of hand-drawn paintings, digital paintings, photography, and video, and submissions are accepted for works that express the familiar Mugunghwa encountered in daily life.
The Korea Forest Service will select 19 winners and award certificates and prize money totaling 11.6 million KRW.
The grand prize winner in the hand-drawn painting general category will receive the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award and 1 million KRW; the grand prize winner in the hand-drawn painting student category will receive the Minister of Education Award and 1 million KRW; the grand prize winner in the photography category will receive the Korea Forest Service Commissioner Award and 1 million KRW; and the grand prize winner in the video category will receive the Korea Forest Service Commissioner Award and 2 million KRW.
Notably, this year the video category has been newly established to accept video works themed on the Mugunghwa, with separate awards planned for these works.
The final winning works will be exhibited at the "31st National Mugunghwa Festival Central Event" to be held in August, and the awards ceremony will take place during the festival's opening ceremony.
