Through this agreement, Black Yak will recycle transparent PET bottles collected in Chungcheongnam-do to produce its eco-friendly material called ‘PLUStIC’ and expand products using this material. PLUStIC is an eco-friendly material developed by BYN Black Yak while establishing a resource circulation system for used PET bottles in Korea.
To this end, Chungnam Province and the Chungnam Mayors and Governors Council plan to improve the method of collecting high-quality transparent PET bottles within the province, expand separate sorting facilities, and prioritize purchasing recycled raw material products. Sparkle will cooperate in resource circulation activities such as producing only label-free drinking water to make it easy for consumers to dispose of transparent PET bottles, as well as collecting and recycling empty containers.
Chairman Kang Tae-seon said, “Local governments nationwide are joining Black Yak in raising awareness of the importance of separating transparent PET bottles and establishing a resource circulation system for high-quality recycling,” adding, “Since all stages of resource circulation from disposal to collection and production are important, we will continue to strengthen cooperation with more local governments and companies.”
