[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] SK Telecom announced on the 26th that it will launch the on-tact tour program 'T.um YouTube Live Tour' to allow more people to experience the ICT experience center 'T.um' during the COVID-19 situation.
T.um is an ICT experience center established by SK Telecom at its Euljiro headquarters, covering a total area of 1,370㎡ (414 pyeong), to present the future ICT vision. The name combines 'T' from technology and telecommunication with 'um' from museum and the concept of sprouting.
Visitors to the T.um YouTube Live Tour can experience future ICT technologies through about 30 minutes of real-time broadcast videos set against the backdrop of the futuristic city of 2051, including ▲ ultra-high-speed networks and artificial intelligence (AI) used for space and Earth environment monitoring ▲ rescue of distressed persons using drones and AR (augmented reality) ▲ remote hologram meetings.
In particular, experiences such as riding futuristic transportation like the hyperloop and flying shuttles that can instantly travel to space, as well as remote surgery using 3D medical printers and sensory communication, provide special experiences to viewers even through online streaming.
Visitors can enjoy the tour while communicating in real time with two docents who possess expert knowledge about T.um’s story and related technologies. If visitors have questions, they can ask via comments or chat, and the docents will respond.
Customers who wish to visit can make a reservation on the T.um website. By entering the reservation page on the website, selecting the desired date and time, and choosing the viewing method?YouTube or on-site?and completing the reservation, anyone can visit for free.
Next month, T.um plans to unveil a new tour program focusing on the future created through SK Telecom’s ICT technology and ESG (environment, social, and governance) management. To commemorate the opening of the T.um YouTube Live Tour, all 57 students of Nangsung Elementary School in Cheongju, Chungbuk, are scheduled to participate on the 26th.
