FKCCI-Namdong Power Sign MOU for Mutual Cooperation on Reemployment Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Federation of Korean Industries Small and Medium Business Cooperation Center and Korea South-East Power Co., Ltd. are joining forces to provide reemployment support services.
On the 26th, the Cooperation Center and Korea South-East Power signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation in reemployment support services for retiring (or soon-to-retire) personnel, with Park Cheolhan, head of the Cooperation Center, and Lee Youngjae, director of the Human Resources and Technology Development Institute at Korea South-East Power, in attendance.
According to the MOU, both organizations will jointly develop and operate programs for career planning of retiring (or soon-to-retire) personnel, provide reemployment support services for retiring (or soon-to-retire) individuals, promote collaborative projects related to mid-to-senior age job support initiatives, and jointly promote projects related to career transition, reemployment, and job opportunities.
Director Park stated, "Through this agreement, we expect to provide systematic assistance so that Korea South-East Power employees approaching retirement can concretely plan for their newly designed futures."
In response, Director Lee said, "This holds great significance as we build a new social system suited to the aging population era, and we hope this will establish a foundation for older workers to remain active in the market for a longer period."

The Cooperation Center, based on its accumulated expertise from operating the Mid-to-Senior Job Hope Center?which includes life career planning for middle-aged and senior individuals, career transition schools, re-advancement education, and job fair events?has been offering career planning and training programs since early this year to companies with more than 1,000 employees that must provide reemployment support services to job changers aged 50 and above.
