Guro-gu Promotes Community-Led Neighborhood Projects... Supports 3 to 15 Million KRW per Project
Recruitment of Groups of 5 or More Including Residents and Workers... Up to 15 Million KRW Support per Group... From Identifying Issues to Seeking Solutions Independently... Apply by Visiting District Office or Email by the 30th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] “Think and solve problems together with your neighbors!”
Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is launching the ‘Our Neighborhood Problem-Solving Laboratory: Local Lab Project.’
Guro-gu announced, “We are conducting the Local Lab project where residents take the lead in solving local issues,” and “We are recruiting residents who will actively participate until the 30th.”
The ‘Local Lab’ is a resident-led project where residents, local experts, and non-profit organizations collaborate to identify and solve neighborhood-level problems.
The recruitment target is groups of five or more, including Guro-gu residents with at least one year of community activity experience or workers in the area. Groups that participated last year and set local issues as agendas are also included.
The meetings will carry out step-by-step activities over six months from May to October, including local status surveys, problem identification, solution development, and result reporting.
Last year’s active groups such as ‘Gung-dong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center,’ ‘Children Growing Together in the Village Cooperative,’ and ‘PA-rang Research Institute’ achieved results like cultivating flower beds in habitual illegal dumping areas and forming care communities.
Groups wishing to participate should prepare application forms, group introduction letters, and project plans, and submit them by the 30th by visiting the Guro-gu Office’s Cooperation Policy Advisor Office or via email (akzm0313@guro.go.kr).
For more details, refer to the announcement section on the district office website.
Guro-gu will select candidates through document screening and review by the Local Subsidy Deliberation Committee, and notify results individually in May. Results can also be checked on the district office website.
The district will provide selected groups with support ranging from 3 million to 15 million KRW, considering activity experience and project plans.
A Guro-gu official said, “We expect residents to create villages with their unique colors through the Local Lab project,” and “We hope many residents will feel the changes in the village together with their neighbors through active interest and participation.”
