According to local political circles on the 25th, Jeong will visit Gwangju for a 2-night, 3-day schedule starting on the 27th.
This will be his first visit to Gwangju since stepping down as Prime Minister, and it is expected to mark the beginning of his full-fledged presidential campaign.
On the morning of the 28th, he plans to pay respects at the National May 18th Democratic Cemetery and meet with local elders to review various issues and listen to their opinions.
On the 29th, he will give a special lecture at Gwangju University.

Earlier, Jeong visited the grave of the late former President Roh Moo-hyun in Bongha Village, Gimhae, Gyeongnam, to pay respects. Also, on the 16th, as his first schedule after stepping down as Prime Minister, he visited the residence of the late former President Kim Dae-jung two days later.
