Confirmed Cases 653 as of 6 PM on the 23rd, 1 More Than Yesterday
Amid the rapid spread of COVID-19, on the 14th, citizens lined up for testing at the temporary screening clinic at Seoul Station in Jung-gu, Seoul, where the number of new confirmed cases surged to the 700s. According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and other local governments, a total of 653 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day.
This is one more than the 652 cases recorded during the same time frame the previous day.
By region, 458 cases (70.1%) were from the Seoul metropolitan area, and 195 cases (29.9%) were from non-metropolitan areas.
By city and province, Gyeonggi had 225 cases, Seoul 218, Gyeongnam 47, Busan and Ulsan 35 each, Gyeongbuk 24, Incheon 15, Chungbuk 12, Gwangju 11, Chungnam 9, Gangwon 6, Jeonbuk 5, Daegu 4, Daejeon and Jeju 3 each, and Jeonnam 1.
Among the 17 cities and provinces nationwide, Sejong has not reported any confirmed cases yet.
