Daegu City Strengthens Bathhouse Quarantine Guidelines... Mandatory Mask Wearing for Sesinsa
Administrative Districts with 5 or More Confirmed Cases: All Bathhouses 'Gathering Prohibited'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Daegu City announced on the 22nd that, in response to the frequent occurrence of COVID-19 cluster infections in bathhouses, it will strengthen quarantine standards from the 23rd, including mandatory mask-wearing for bathhouse attendants.
In cases where five or more confirmed cases occur and there is concern about community spread, a gathering ban order will be issued for all bathhouses within the same administrative district to quickly prevent further local spread.
Additionally, bathhouse managers, operators, and workers (including bathhouse attendants, barbers, concession operators, and maintenance staff) are required to undergo COVID-19 diagnostic testing every two weeks at district or county health center screening clinics (by prior appointment) and temporary screening clinics until the cluster infection situation ends.
In particular, as confirmed cases among bathhouse attendants exposed to the enclosed environment inside the bathhouse have occurred consecutively, mask-wearing by attendants working inside the bathhouse will be made mandatory to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 among workers.
Along with this, a special inspection team of 27 members divided into 9 groups from districts and counties will conduct special inspections focusing on large bathhouses with many users to enforce strengthened quarantine rules such as mandatory electronic entry log (QR check-in) certification and prohibition of issuing new monthly bath passes.
