Illegal Parking Vehicles Blocking Fire Truck Dispatch 'Forced Disposal'
Training Conducted for Forced Disposal of Illegally Parked Vehicles in Residential Areas of Dongsang-dong, Gimhae
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters announced on the 22nd that it will promote the strengthening of forced disposal of illegally parked vehicles that obstruct firefighting activities to raise residents' safety awareness.
On the same day, the Fire Headquarters conducted forced disposal training of illegally parked vehicles in a densely populated residential area around Dongsang-dong, Gimhae City.
They conducted training to secure access routes by pushing illegally parked vehicles blocking fire truck entry in a car-to-car manner and demonstrated opening car doors of illegally parked vehicles in front of fire hydrants to pass fire hoses together with residents.
Dongsang-dong, Gimhae City, is an area where firefighting activities are concentrated, with 74 fires, 624 emergency medical services, and 124 rescues annually.
However, due to narrow road widths, rapid entry of fire vehicles is difficult when illegal parking occurs.
To ensure quick arrival at fire scenes and life rescue, fire lanes on narrow roads near residential areas must be secured, and a culture prohibiting illegal parking must be established.
According to Article 25 of the Fire Services Act, if a parked vehicle is judged to obstruct firefighting activities, it can be immediately removed on-site by order of the fire chief.
