Fair Trade Commission Conducts On-Site Investigation of Nexon Over 'Probability Item Manipulation Controversy'
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Nexon Korea, which was embroiled in allegations of manipulating probabilities in "probability-type items (loot boxes)," underwent an investigation by the Fair Trade Commission.
According to the gaming industry on the 20th, the Fair Trade Commission conducted an on-site investigation at Nexon's headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province on the same day.
Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, recently requested the Fair Trade Commission to investigate Nexon's "MapleStory," "Dungeon & Fighter," "Mabinogi," Netmarble's "Modoo Marble," and NCSoft's "Lineage M·2M," among others.
The Fair Trade Commission is reportedly examining whether Nexon violated the Electronic Commerce Act and other regulations.
