3D Mammography with Ultra-Precise 70-Micron Layer Resolution, JW Medical's '3Dimensions'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Breast cancer has become the number one cancer among women not only worldwide but also in South Korea. Although breast cancer is not easy to detect, early detection leads to a high cure rate. However, most Korean women have 'dense breasts,' where glandular tissue is more developed than fat, making cancer detection difficult.
The essential equipment to detect tumors hidden within glandular tissue is the 3D high-spec X-ray mammography called 'Mammography.' This method compresses the breast flat and transmits X-rays to identify microcalcifications, malignant nodules, and lymph node metastasis. It is highly accurate in diagnosis and considered cost-effective.
JW Medical, a subsidiary of JW Holdings, recently launched a new digital 3D mammography device called '3Dimensions.' This latest high-end 3D dedicated model converts X-ray projection signals into digital signals for imaging, supporting ultra-precise layered resolution of 70 microns (0.07 mm) and can complete imaging in just 3.7 seconds. Additionally, it captures images from more than 15 different angles to produce densely layered sectional images at 1 mm intervals, allowing clear differentiation of cancer cells and microcalcifications.
