Hong Ik-pyo: "The Review of Comprehensive Real Estate Tax Relief Policy Is Not True"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Hong Ik-pyo, the Policy Committee Chair of the Democratic Party of Korea, clarified on the 20th that reports claiming the Democratic Party was considering reducing the scope of the comprehensive real estate tax were not true.
At the party floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Chair Hong stated, "The reports in some morning newspapers claiming that we are reviewing policies related to the comprehensive real estate tax are not true. Nothing has been reviewed."
He added, "I expressed strong regret toward the media that wrote critical articles despite me saying it was unknown and untrue. The Democratic Party has formed a real estate task force (TF). All official party positions related to real estate will be announced through the real estate TF. This is the party's stance," drawing a clear line.
