Heineken Launches Non-Alcoholic Beer 'Heineken 0.0' in South Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Heineken announced on the 20th that it is officially entering the rapidly growing domestic non-alcoholic beer market with the launch of 'Heineken 0.0.'
Heineken 0.0 is currently the world's number one product in the global non-alcoholic beer market and is sold in 94 countries worldwide, including Europe, North America, South Africa, Russia, and Australia. According to the Food Industry Statistical Information (FIS), the global non-alcoholic (including alcohol-free and non-alcohol) beverage market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 23.1% until 2024. This growth rate is seven times that of the beer market during the same period.
Heineken 0.0 is made using the same brewing method as Heineken Original, with only the alcohol produced during the fermentation process extracted to preserve the original taste. The alcohol content is less than 0.03%, legally classified as a non-alcoholic adult beverage, and categorized as a mixed beverage in food types. The 0.03% alcohol content is a trace amount naturally occurring during the raw material fermentation process, which is even lower than that found in common foods such as bakery products like bread, fruit juices, or bananas.
Heineken Zero will be released in four types: 150ml, 330ml, and 500ml cans, and 330ml bottles. It will be available nationwide at large supermarkets, supermarkets, and convenience stores starting May 1.

Jiwon Park, Marketing Director of Heineken Korea, stated, “As a leader in the alcoholic beverage industry, Heineken recognized the need to offer choices that allow people to enjoy the taste of beer without the burden of alcohol and calories in various moments when they cannot or do not drink beer in daily life, and thus launched this product.”
