The city stated that the drone industry, a key player in the 4th Industrial Revolution, is being applied across society, and currently, aerial disinfection using drones will be conducted to eliminate blind spots that cannot be covered by vehicle disinfection at the sanitary landfill.
The total site area of the sanitary landfill located in Daeyang-dong, Mokpo is 290,490㎡, of which 180,000㎡ requires disinfection. Using drones has the advantage of completing the disinfection within about 30 minutes.
Until now, disinfection has been focused in spring and summer using two vehicles and personnel, but from April, drones will be utilized in all weather conditions to maximize disinfection efficiency.
