[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) has been selected for the Ministry of Education's Meister University pilot operation project. Meister University is a specialized college that produces 'Professional Technical Masters.'
The Meister University pilot operation project is a new initiative launched this year by the Ministry of Education to cultivate highly skilled professional technical talent.
The selected specialized colleges will develop and operate advanced job-centered curricula ranging from short-term job courses to professional technical master's programs during the two-year pilot project period.
On the 15th, the Ministry of Education conducted a comprehensive evaluation of curriculum development plans and educational conditions, announcing two universities in the metropolitan area and three universities outside the metropolitan area, including Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (in cooperation with Dongju University).
The selected universities will receive 2 billion KRW this year to develop an excellent Meister University model.
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, together with its partner university Dongju University (President Jung Hak-young), aims to establish a bachelor's operation model for cultivating highly skilled professional technical talent in the field of sports rehabilitation physical therapy.
The main initiatives include developing short-term job courses, establishing an on-site training system linked with industries and school enterprises, and preparing a clinical case project system.
Through the development and operation of industry-demand-reflective, company-close curricula, the project plans to provide adult learners with systematic career development opportunities to acquire the latest job skills.
The project is not conducted independently but expects to create synergy effects through the formation of a consortium among universities.
In the midst of crises inside and outside the education sector, such as COVID-19 and declining school-age populations, sharing and cooperation among regional universities are gaining attention as a new breakthrough.
