Distributed to community facilities such as Dong Resident Centers and libraries, containing information on the 'Happiness Dream Project' conducted from 2015 to 2020 and the newly launched 'Jongno Well-being Index Rounding Project' this year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) has published a white paper titled "Happy Jongno, Jongno Happiness," which organizes the valuable experiences and achievements of the happiness policies promoted since 2015 at a glance.
This book contains the story of how Jongno-gu has pursued residents' happiness through the "Happy Dream Project" conducted from 2015 to 2020, as well as detailed information about the "Jongno Well-being Index Rounding Project" implemented this year to enhance residents' happiness.
First, the "Happy Dream Project" is organized into four main areas: ▲Imagining Happiness ▲Sharing Happiness ▲Learning and Practicing Happiness ▲From Residents to the Community.
The "Well-being Index Rounding Project" introduces various ongoing or planned projects for this year under the name "2021 Are You All Well?"
Among these, "Imagining Happiness" tells about the employee club "Happy Irum 1394," which researches and contemplates residents' happiness, and the establishment of the dedicated resident happiness team "Happy Dream Team."
"Sharing Happiness" introduces the "Happy Dream Leaders," a resident working group of the Happy Dream Project, the "Donu-dong Saetteul Village Project" aimed at improving the quality of life in the underprivileged Donu-dong gosiwon area, and the "Vulnerable Group Happiness Promotion Project," based on the idea that happiness doubles when shared.
Next, "Learning and Practicing Happiness" covers the "Happy Imagination Table," where the community imagines and discusses a happy future; the "Happy Dream Academy," a special lecture series to find personal and community happiness; the certification photo campaign "Finding Happiness"; the "Jongno Happiness Mailbox" for sharing happiness discourse; and the "Haengbuk (happy books) Club," which finds happiness through books.
"From Residents to the Community" includes the "Jongno-gu Happiness Ordinance" enacted to establish happiness as a policy foundation, the "Jongno Happiness Index" developed by reflecting residents' opinions, and participation and cooperation in the "Happy Realization Local Government Council" to build a happy community together.
The new start for happiness, the "Jongno Well-being Index Rounding Project," allows residents to learn about creating policies for a happy Jongno.
It also introduces various projects such as operating the Happiness School and Haengbuk (happy books) Club to redraw the starting line of happiness awareness based on learning and practice, and diverse content like "Jonghaeng Mujin (鐘幸無盡)" to spread happiness culture.
Additionally, readers can find "Participation and Practice, Finding Visible Happiness" by Bae Anyong, leader of the Happy Dream Leaders and chairman of the Resident Happiness Committee; "Happy Jongno Achieving the Triple Crown of Happiness Policy" by Lee Ji-hoon, director of the National Gross Happiness Policy Research Institute; and "Jongno-gu, No.1 in Resident Happiness Realization" by Eun-sook In, research fellow at the Social Innovation Research Institute.
The book also carefully organizes Jongno's gem-like spaces that bring happiness to residents, such as the Yun Dong-ju Literature Museum, Park No-su Art Museum, Mugyewon, and Inwangsan Choso Bookstore.
