GS25 Launches Gangneung Chodang Tofu Cake... Targeting the MZ Generation
GS25 introduces 'Gangneung Chodang Tofu Cake,' a new interpretation of Gangneung Chodang Tofu, as a private brand product.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS25 announced on the 16th that it will launch the 'Gangneung Chodang Tofu Cake,' a newly interpreted version of Gangneung Chodang Tofu, as a PB product. The Gangneung Chodang Tofu Cake is a specially planned product reflecting the consumption trends of the MZ generation, who enjoy and consume old things in a new way, and the 40s and 50s generations, who reminisce about the past through old products.
This product took more than eight months to develop. GS25 produced and tested hundreds of prototypes, ultimately increasing the content of Gangneung Chodang Tofu made from domestically grown soybeans to about 30% of the total weight, and completed the Gangneung Chodang Tofu Cake using domestic yogurt, natural cream cheese, and other ingredients.
Unlike regular cakes, the Gangneung Chodang Tofu Cake's most distinctive feature is its rich and savory taste. The sweetness and freshness from ingredients like yogurt harmonize with the savory flavor of the tofu, creating a diverse flavor profile. Additionally, to represent the identity of the main ingredient, Gangneung Chodang Tofu, and to provide customers with a unique fun element, a packaging container resembling a miniaturized tofu container was specially produced.
