[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A man in his 40s who divorced his wife was found to have committed multiple sexual crimes by engaging in acts similar to sexual intercourse with his biological daughter after she turned 9 years old.
On the 15th, the Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Division of Suwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Kim Won-ho) announced that they had arrested and indicted A (41), a Chinese national, on charges including violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (rape within family relations).
It was confirmed that after divorcing his Chinese national wife in 2009, A raised his biological daughter B (14) and committed multiple sexual crimes, including acts similar to sexual intercourse, starting around 2015 when his daughter turned 9 years old.
Additionally, he is accused of sexually assaulting B three times from 2019 to last year.
The prosecution filed charges only for crimes committed after 2019, for which specific allegations could be identified.
The case came to light last year when B confided the abuse to her biological mother.
After the biological mother reported the case and the investigation began, A fled but was apprehended and handed over to the prosecution earlier this month.
