[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju University Hosim Memorial Library recently visited Jinwol Small Library in Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and announced on the 15th that it donated about 250 books received through the ‘Sharing through Books (Seo-ro Nanum)’ program.
The ‘Sharing through Books (Seo-ro Nanum)’ program, established to convey dreams and hope to children in local institutions through reading and to help form proper character and values, receives book donations annually from students and faculty members and delivers them to local children’s centers and welfare centers.
Last year, about 200 children’s books were donated to the ‘Attic of Wisdom Local Children’s Center’ in Nam-gu, Gwangju.
Kim Hyun-seok, director of Gwangju University Hosim Memorial Library, said, “This year, due to the impact of COVID-19, it was difficult to donate books to local children’s centers, but with active participation from students and faculty members, we were able to deliver them to Jinwol Small Library,” adding, “We will continue to implement various programs for local children.”
