Yeongwon Outdoor Unveils Official Uniforms for South Korea National Team at Tokyo Olympics
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] The official uniform for the Republic of Korea national team, 'Team Korea,' participating in the 32nd Tokyo Summer Olympics (hereafter Tokyo Olympics) has been unveiled.
On the afternoon of the 14th, Youngone Outdoor held a demonstration of the official uniform for the Republic of Korea national team at the Tokyo Olympics G-100 event hosted by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee at the Jincheon National Training Center.
The North Face, Youngone Outdoor’s brand and the official partner of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and the Republic of Korea national team 'Team Korea,' supports the Tokyo Olympics official uniform for the Republic of Korea national team, consisting of a total of 17 items including the 'award ceremony uniform' to be worn with the national athletes on the podium during moments of glory, 'training uniforms' (all daily wear excluding suits), and 'team equipment' (shoes, hats, backpacks, and travel bags, etc.).
The official uniform is designed based on the Taegeuk mark of the Korean flag and the motif of 'Geon-Gon-Kam-Ri (乾坤坎離),' and it enhances cooling, water repellency, breathability, moisture absorption, and quick-drying functions to help the Republic of Korea national athletes maintain optimal condition in Tokyo’s hot and humid climate.
Youngone Outdoor applied various eco-friendly materials such as recycled polyester and recycled nylon fabrics to 13 items of the official uniform through its proprietary eco-innovation technology, 'The North Face K-Eco Tech.'
Meanwhile, Youngone Outdoor has supported the Republic of Korea national team’s official uniforms for a long time, starting from the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, and the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, contributing to the development of national sports as a supporter of Team Korea.
