Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Implements Systematic Management of Port Facilities
Enhancing Safety for Vessels and Passengers Using Bujanggyo Bridge
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 14th that it will carry out systematic safety management services for port facilities (bujanggyo) at Yeosu Port and Gwangyang Port to ensure safe ports.
Bujanggyo are facilities where passenger ships, workboats, and government vessels dock and passengers board and disembark; they are floating piers and bridges on the water.
Currently, the Authority operates a total of 12 vessels and plans to conduct monthly inspections, semi-annual inspections, and maintenance to ensure the safety of users and vessels.
In particular, it decided to focus on safety management by conducting emergency inspections and systematic management even during typhoons and disaster situations.

An official from the Authority said, “We conduct safety management services annually for the bujanggyo facilities at Yeosu Port and Gwangyang Port,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure convenient and safe use for users.”
