Hyundai Motor Resumes Production at Asan Plant with 'Semiconductor Parts Resupply'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 14th that it has resumed production at its Asan plant, which had halted operations for two days due to a shortage of automotive semiconductors, as semiconductor parts have been resupplied.
Hyundai Motor's Asan plant, which produces the Grandeur and Sonata, stopped operations from the 12th to the 13th due to disruptions in the supply of automotive semiconductors for the Powertrain Control Unit (PCU) parts. Hyundai explained that the two-day shutdown resulted in 2,050 fewer vehicles produced than planned.
Hyundai Motor's Ulsan Plant 1 has also been suspended from operations since the 7th due to shortages in automotive semiconductors and supply issues with the Ioniq 5 PE module.
