Real-time Payment Details Confirmation and Chat Function with Caregivers Added
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family will introduce the easy payment service for the childcare service, 'DoldomPay,' in October.
On the 14th, the ministry announced that it will sign a business agreement to introduce 'DoldomPay' with KB Kookmin Bank at the KB Kookmin Bank headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, in the afternoon. The ministry plans to collaborate with KB Kookmin Bank to develop DoldomPay and provide specialized services such as real-time chat functionality.
DoldomPay is a unique payment method available for the childcare service. By selecting 'DoldomPay' in the app, users can link to KB Kookmin Bank's easy payment platform to check payment details in real time and also issue cash receipts.
The ministry will also provide a chat function that allows users and caregivers to exchange information about the care location and time through the app without knowing each other's contact information when using emergency childcare services via the childcare app.
The childcare service supports children under 12 years old in households experiencing childcare gaps by having caregivers visit homes directly. The government partially subsidizes fees based on household income criteria, and users pay their share via the National Happiness Card or bank transfer. However, there have been opinions that real-time payment or payment detail confirmation is not possible, and refund procedures are cumbersome.

Minister Jeong Young-ae of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family said, "By introducing DoldomPay and implementing chat functions between users and caregivers, using the childcare service will become much more convenient," adding, "We will do our best to provide the childcare service more conveniently and efficiently to create a society that is good for raising children."
