The consulting focused on four major ordinances in the first quarter: operation of compensation systems for errors and delays in civil complaints, sustainable development, infectious disease prevention and management, and the organization and operation of local autonomous disaster prevention teams. Among 50 ordinance drafts that received legislative consulting from the Ministry, four were selected through surveys of local government officials and consultations with organizations such as the Korea Association of Provincial Governors.
Notably, one ordinance includes provisions on monetary compensation and related matters when administrative agencies cause inconvenience to civil petitioners due to errors or delays in processing. Another ordinance established a foundation for local governments to autonomously promote sustainable development policies tailored to regional characteristics.
The selected cases will be immediately shared and disseminated to all local governments nationwide to serve as references when drafting ordinances. They will also be included in the upcoming '2021 Autonomous Regulation Legislative Consulting Casebook.'
Lee Kangseop, head of the Ministry of Government Legislation, said, "Proactive administration that citizens can directly experience most vividly takes place at local governments," adding, "The Ministry plans to actively promote and support the dissemination and utilization of the selected key cases among local governments."
