Police Raid Daegu City Hall...Securing Materials Related to 'Yeonho District Speculation Allegations' (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The police have begun a full-scale forced investigation by securing related materials concerning speculation allegations in the Yeonho Public Housing District in Daegu.
The Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency's Metropolitan Investigation Unit deployed 12 investigators to conduct a search and seizure at the Urban Planning Division of Daegu City Hall around 10:30 a.m. on the 12th. The search and seizure ended at 3 p.m. the same day, lasting 4 hours and 30 minutes.
A police official stated, "We conducted the search and seizure to secure necessary materials related to speculation in the Yeonho District."
The Yeonho District is a public housing district under development in the Yeonho-dong area of Suseong-gu, Daegu, covering approximately 890,000 square meters. It is planned to include residential and commercial zones as well as a legal town. The district development is led by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and others.

However, as speculation allegations have surfaced, Daegu City has initiated a full investigation of public officials. Earlier, on the 1st, the police conducted a search and seizure at the Daegu Eastern Compensation Project Team of the LH Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters related to the Yeonho District, securing compensation-related materials.
