One COVID-19 Case Reported in Mokpo After 43 Days

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seung-hyun Jeong] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 12th that one new COVID-19 case has been confirmed.
With this, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Mokpo reached 58, marking the first case in 43 days since February 28.
The 58th confirmed case is a teenage male who was infected through contact with patient A from Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, a dormitory mate at university.
On the 11th, the 58th confirmed case, classified as a close contact of patient A by the Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center, traveled to Mokpo by his mother's car and was under self-quarantine. On the 12th, he tested positive through a screening test at the Mokpo City Public Health Center.
A city official stated, "The 58th confirmed case had no contact with local residents after arriving in Mokpo, and after visiting the health center, he moved directly home, so there was no movement within Mokpo." He added, "The patient's mother tested negative, and the younger sister, who had no contact, is currently undergoing testing."
The city conducted emergency disinfection of the patient's residence and plans to urgently transfer him once a hospital bed is assigned by Jeollanam-do.
