Coupang Play Targets 'Moms' Hearts' by Strengthening Educational Content
Access Various Educational Contents Without Additional Costs
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang's video streaming service Coupang Play is adding an education-only section for Wow membership members and unveiling content from famous domestic and international educational brands.
Coupang announced on the 12th that Coupang Play will organize a separate education content section in the kids and adult profiles and sequentially release new educational content through partnerships with popular educational brands. Going forward, Coupang Wow members will be able to access high-quality educational content that was previously offered for a fee on existing educational platforms for free through Coupang Play.
Since its launch in December last year, Coupang Play has continuously provided educational content produced by Hackers, Daekyo, YBM, EBSLang, BBC, and others to broaden the range of content choices according to customers' tastes and needs. With this content revamp, Coupang Wow members will be able to access a wider variety of educational content more easily and systematically. It is expected that Coupang Play’s utilization will increase further by expanding video content that the whole family can enjoy and learn from together with their children.
Looking at the representative educational content being added, the entire video series of "Scholastic Basic Readers," a curriculum actually applied in public schools in the United States and well-known in Korea by word of mouth, will be released. Additionally, Coupang Play will exclusively service educational video content from the digital textbook platform "Icecream," used in most elementary classrooms nationwide, and "Icecream Kids," targeted at preschool children. Coupang Play will also exclusively provide videos of elementary education content "WiseCamp" and middle and high school lectures "Subakssi.com" from Visang Education.
