[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Inha University has established a dedicated safety and disaster prevention organization and will conduct large-scale regular safety campaigns every month to create a pleasant and safe campus.
Starting from the 8th, Inha University will hold the 'Clean & Safe Campaign' every second Thursday of the month, inspecting the safety of campus buildings and facilities. The purpose is to prevent accidents by early removal of safety hazards and to improve the educational environment.
Before the campaign, Inha University established the Safety and Disaster Prevention Corps and its subordinate Safety and Disaster Prevention Team directly under the Vice President for External Affairs, and renamed the Facility Safety Team under the Office of Administration to the Facility Team. The head of the Office of Administration concurrently serves as the head of the Safety and Disaster Prevention Corps to enhance work efficiency and unity.
The campaign involves all members of Inha University, including the dedicated Safety and Disaster Prevention Corps, the Office of Administration, administrative offices of each college, and students.
The Facility Team inspects the safety of buildings and facilities, while the Disaster Prevention Corps checks laboratory organization, storage of flammable materials, and items and equipment around fire hydrants and fire doors.
The administrative departments responsible for each inspection area organize or dispose of items placed in campus spaces such as corridors and laboratories before the regular inspection day and check the internal safety management status of laboratories in advance.
The Disaster Prevention Corps and the Office of Administration plan to designate and inspect monthly inspection areas starting with Building 2, the engineering building, followed by Buildings 4 to 7, the High-Tech Building, Kim Hyuntae Inha Dream Center, Seohogwan, the Main Building, the Lifelong Education Center, and the 60th Anniversary Hall.
Meanwhile, Inha University has signed a business agreement with the Incheon Michuhol Fire Station and is preparing to launch a 'University Student Volunteer Fire Brigade' by selecting 30 enrolled students. The volunteer fire brigade will contribute to spreading a safety culture through fire prevention and fire promotion activities and will also promote community service and local social contribution activities.
