Gangwon Land CEO Lee Sam-geol Inaugurated "Will Lay the Foundation for 100 Years"
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Kangwon Land announced that Lee Sam-geol, former 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, held the inauguration ceremony as the 10th CEO of Kangwon Land on the 8th at the executive meeting room of Kangwon Land headquarters and officially began his duties.
CEO Lee previously served as Director of the Planning and Management Office of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Local Tax Officer of the Local Taxation Office at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Director of the Local Finance and Taxation Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Vice Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and then as the 2nd Vice Minister.
At the inauguration ceremony, CEO Lee said, "The residents and employees of the mining area have endured many hardships, and as a result, the extension of the Special Act on Support for Development of Mining Areas has been passed. With the 20-year extension of this Special Act, the uncertainty about the company's future has been removed, so I will strive to establish the foundation for Kangwon Land's 100-year future in harmony with the local residents."
He continued, "The leisure and tourism industry has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and Kangwon Land is also facing very difficult circumstances, so this is a time when new changes are required. We will not be bogged down by immediate difficulties but will work together with the employees to overcome this crisis."
Furthermore, CEO Lee stated, "I ask all employees to think deeply with both their heads and hearts to prepare for the 'post-COVID' era, and as CEO, I will gather those opinions and make sure they are realized. I will work hard so that Kangwon Land can continue to receive favorable evaluations from future generations."
