Daily COVID-19 Cases in Seoul Exceed 200... First Time in 50 Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] The daily number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul has exceeded 200 for the first time in 50 days.
On the 7th, Seoul City announced that a provisional tally showed 240 new COVID-19 cases in Seoul over 21 hours from midnight to 9 p.m.
Although this provisional count has not yet been adjusted for duplicates, it is the first time since February 16 that the daily confirmed cases in Seoul have surpassed 200.
Compared to the provisional tally for the same time period, this is 41 more than the 199 cases reported the previous day and 45 more than the 195 cases on the 31st of last month. The official 24-hour count, after removing duplicates and adding late reports, was 198 on the 6th and 199 on the 31st of last month.
The daily confirmed cases in Seoul remained below 150 from February 19 to the 29th of last month, then surged to 158 on the 30th and 199 on the 31st. Since the beginning of this month, the numbers have hovered just below 200 with 166 on the 1st, 155 on the 2nd, 149 on the 3rd, 152 on the 4th, 147 on the 5th, and 198 on the 6th.
