One More COVID-19 Case Confirmed at Bangsa Defense Agency in Gwacheon Government Complex... Total Military Cases Reach 669
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] One more person at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) in Gwacheon Government Complex tested positive for COVID-19. The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the military has increased to 669.
According to DAPA on the day, an active-duty officer working in the same department as the confirmed case tested positive. The new confirmed case was under self-quarantine.
As a result, since the 30th of last month, a total of six cumulative confirmed cases have occurred at DAPA, including four active-duty officers and two public officials.
DAPA is located in Buildings 3 and 4 within the Gwacheon Government Complex, and all confirmed cases are known to have worked in Building 3. This means additional confirmed cases may emerge among those under self-quarantine.
DAPA conducted a full inspection of about 1,500 personnel working in Building 3, of whom approximately 1,210 tested negative. The results for the remaining approximately 290 personnel have not yet been released.
In addition, after conducting an emergency disinfection of Building 3, DAPA plans to additionally disinfect Building 4 as a preventive measure.

Meanwhile, one officer belonging to the Pohang Marine Corps in Gyeongbuk also tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day. As a result, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the military has increased to a total of 669.
