Heo Geon-Young, Former Joint Chiefs of Staff Force Planning Director, Appointed as Head of Defense Technology Quality Agency
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter]The Defense Acquisition Program Administration announced on the 7th that it has appointed Heo Geon-young (55), former Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Force Planning Department, as the new President of the Defense Technology Quality Institute.
President Heo, originally from Geoje, Gyeongnam, graduated from Masan Jungang High School and was commissioned as part of the 44th class of the Korea Military Academy. He earned a master's degree in military science from Daejeon University.

During his military service, he served as Director of Knowledge Information at the ROK-US Combined Forces Command, Chief of the Command and Control Office, Chief of Firepower and Air Power at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Commander of the Army Aviation Operations Command, and Chief of the Force Planning Department at the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He retired earlier this year. His term as president is three years.
