"Refund Remaining Data" U+Altteul Mobile Launches 'Isipsae Plan' Targeting Generation Z
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The first-ever budget phone plan exclusively for people in their 20s, reflecting the lifestyle of Generation Z, has been launched in the industry. It features generous data allowances and even offers refunds, catering to the high consumption of content such as videos.
U+ Altteul Mobile announced on the 7th the launch of three types of the ‘Isipsae Plan,’ a phone plan exclusively for people in their 20s. The Isipsae Plan is a USIM-only plan targeting Generation Z, whose communication usage patterns vary greatly due to lifestyle changes such as being college students, job seekers, or young professionals.
The biggest feature of the Isipsae Plan is the introduction of a ‘data overcharge cap’ and ‘unused data refund’ service, considering the characteristics of 20-something customers whose monthly data usage fluctuates significantly. Even though it is not an unlimited data plan, the data overcharge cap is set at a maximum of 3,300 KRW, reducing worries about bill shock. Additionally, if the basic data allowance is not fully used, the remaining data can be refunded as points, partially compensating for unused data.
The newly launched plans come in three types, prioritizing cost-effectiveness. They are 40-50% cheaper compared to regular carriers and can be easily used without a contract by combining with unlocked phones or existing mobile devices. There are two unlimited data plans: ▲‘Isipsae Freedom’ (KRW 32,950/month, basic voice and text, 11GB data with an additional 2GB daily, unlimited use at 3Mbps speed after data exhaustion) and ▲‘Isipsae 15GB+’ (KRW 26,900/month, 180 minutes voice, 100 texts, 15GB data with unlimited use at 3Mbps speed after exhaustion).
Additionally, for customers who mainly use data in Wi-Fi environments such as home or school, a cost-effective ▲‘Isipsae 5GB’ plan (KRW 14,100/month, 180 minutes voice, 100 texts, 5GB data) was also launched.
Subscriptions can be easily applied for through the Isipsae Plan exclusive website (20s.uplussave.com) and the online homepage (uplussave.com). Simple identity verification is possible via ‘Naver Certificate,’ and all processes from subscription to activation can be handled non-face-to-face, minimizing complicated procedures.
U+ Altteul Mobile plans to expand the ‘Isipsae Plan’ as a Generation Z exclusive brand, establishing it as a second brand that provides new value to this generation. Reflecting the generational characteristics of high interest in social values and environmental issues, the delivery package is made with FSC-certified eco-friendly paper, and existing guide content is simplified using QR codes. Furthermore, communication with people in their 20s will be strengthened through major media used by Generation Z, such as YouTube and Instagram.
