"Busan Citizens, Everyone! No Burden! Get Tested for COVID-19!"
Busan Medical Association and Pharmaceutical Association Distribute Posters Encouraging Diagnostic Testing
Free Testing Available Regardless of Epidemiological Links or Symptoms
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] "Early detection is the only way to break the chain of infection." Recently, Busan City has encouraged citizens to undergo COVID-19 diagnostic testing to curb the spread of the virus.
Busan City has decided to actively guide citizens who visit hospitals or pharmacies with cold symptoms to get diagnostic tests in order to proactively identify hidden confirmed cases within the region.
With the arrival of the spring transitional season, the number of cold patients exhibiting symptoms similar to COVID-19 is increasing, and the plan is to block community infection chains through proactive testing of these individuals.
Busan City is distributing posters guiding COVID-19 testing to a total of 4,361 locations, including 360 hospital-level medical institutions, 2,414 clinics, 1,571 pharmacies, and 16 district and county health centers.
Together with the Busan Medical Association and Busan Pharmaceutical Association, the city plans to provide information on COVID-19 symptoms and encourage diagnostic testing, focusing on suspected patients.
Currently, as the social distancing level in Busan has been raised to Level 2, anyone can receive free COVID-19 diagnostic testing at health centers and medical institution screening clinics regardless of epidemiological links or symptom presence.
Following a recent surge in confirmed cases in the Saha-gu area, an interim screening clinic was established and has been operating at Sinpyeong Leisure Sports Park since the 4th to expand diagnostic testing and find hidden infections.
The Saha-gu interim screening clinic will operate until the 10th, with about 500 people participating in diagnostic testing daily.
As Nth-generation infections related to entertainment establishments have surged recently, mainly in Jung-gu and Seo-gu, Busan City plans to operate an interim screening clinic at Busan Station from the 8th to the 14th.
Additionally, mobile screening clinics are being operated at about 100 locations, including ▲manufacturing plants with dense worker populations ▲construction sites ▲seafood-related workplaces ▲professional athletes, actively working to block infection chains within the community.
