Early Voting Rate at 5 PM on the First Day of the April 7 By-Election Reaches 8.25%

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The National Election Commission announced that the voter turnout rate as of 5 p.m. on the first day of early voting for the April 7 by-elections was 8.25%.
Out of 12,161,624 registered voters, 13,442 had cast their votes in the early voting that began at 6 a.m. that day.
In the Seoul mayoral election, 731,373 people voted, recording a turnout rate of 8.68%. In the Busan mayoral election, 230,071 participated, with a turnout rate of 7.84%.

At the same time during the first day of the 2020 21st general election, the turnout rate was 10.93%. In the 2018 local elections, it was 8.01%, and the turnout rates in Seoul and Busan where the elections were held were 6.99% and 6.76%, respectively.
