Yeonji Park, created around an artificial lake in the middle of the city, is loved by citizens as a place for exercise, relaxation, and weekend outings throughout all four seasons. In April, the park becomes even more crowded as cherry blossoms and tulips bloom in full.
To prevent close contact, crowding, and enclosed spaces that raise infection concerns, the city will temporarily close the sculpture park lawn within Yeonji Park and install a right-side walking guidance strip on the walking paths to encourage social distancing.
Additionally, about 80 banners reminding visitors to comply with quarantine rules have been installed, and responsible officials are conducting frequent inspections and guidance activities.
Furthermore, facilities such as the basketball court and jokgu court within the park, which are frequently used by unspecified large numbers of people and lack management, have been temporarily closed due to difficulties in enforcing preventive measures.
