Women Venture Association Discovers 100 Women Entrepreneurs in Innovative Technology and Women-Friendly Tech Startups
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Women Venture Association (President Kim Bun-hee) announced on the 2nd that it is recruiting female prospective entrepreneurs to participate in the '2021 Preliminary Startup Package Women Specialized Field (hereinafter Startup Package)' supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development. The Startup Package project supports commercialization funds and women-tailored startup programs as a package for female prospective entrepreneurs with innovative technologies and ideas, and the association has participated as a women-specialized host institution since 2018, discovering and nurturing about 100 female prospective entrepreneurs annually.
This year, 100 promising ideas in various fields such as technology-based innovative items, women-friendly sectors, and items responding to With-Corona will be selected. Selected prospective entrepreneurs will receive an average of 51 million KRW (up to 100 million KRW) in commercialization funds for prototype production, intellectual property acquisition, marketing, etc., and 40 hours of basic education necessary for startup and management. In addition, during the contract period, one-on-one matching with dedicated mentors in each field will provide support for information and resolving difficulties needed for overall startup preparation. Various women-specialized customized startup education and networking programs will also be prepared to support the growth of prospective entrepreneurs step by step.

Women-specialized customized programs such as IR investment consultations linked with the Women Venture Fund and crowdfunding to provide opportunities for securing initial capital and smooth market entry will also be supported. President Kim Bun-hee said, "The challenge of female prospective entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and potential is increasing every year," and added, "We will strive to build a startup ecosystem where women startups can start and scale up by supporting the infrastructure and resources the association possesses."
